Cataract Suite

Precise measurements for fewer refractive surprises

Comprehensive data

Detailed information for excellent outcomes

The Eyestar 900 features excellent cataract penetration, well-established dual zone reflective keratometry, and axial measurements of all eye compartments. Based on swept-source OCT, it provides the user with detailed 7.5mm class A-topography of the cornea front and back. These measurements have the potential to significantly improve cataract planning for astigmatic and post-refractive patients and those with signs of corneal pathologies.

OCT images

Identification of the unusual

The Eyestar 900 boasts OCT-based B-scan imaging of the anterior chamber. This allows visual identification of unusual tilt and decentration of the crystalline lens. Furthermore, it facilitates easy checking of automated measurement gate positions for the biometry measurements. All this additional information enables further reduction of refractive surprises.

Zernike wavefront & vision simulation

Patient education made easy

The symmetry and regularity of the astigmatism on the cornea front and back are readily available, allowing a thorough judgement of the patient’s eligibility for a premium IOL. Vision simulation and Zernike analysis support the surgeon to set the patient’s expectation right and helps choosing the optimum procedure.

Overview screen

Review any detail

The overview screen of the Cataract Suite provides full access to all measurement data necessary for state-of-the-art cataract planning. It includes axial lengths measurements, highly precise dual-zone keratometry, as well as white-to-white and pupil diameter. Clicking on any of the measurements or displays enables review of the respective information in separate displays. These provide more information and even allow data adjustments by the eye care specialist, if desired.
A/B-Scan

Review of data quality

In case of unusual or extreme axial measurement the ability to review the data quality leads to more confidence in the measurements. The A/B-Scan detail screen enables the surgeon to assess the measurement gate positions form the A-Scan in combination with image information of the patient’s anatomic structures in 16 detail-rich B-scans.
Topography

Identification of asymmetries and anomalies in the topography

Standard compliant topography maps of the anterior and posterior cornea and pachymetry maps support the eye care specialist with the optimum implant selection and diagnostic task. The maps are complemented with measurements and indices to provide complete corneal information.
Excellent OCT imaging

Identification of unusual lens tilt

Eyestar 900 provides more than just biometry information. The swept source OCT technology also excellent cross-sectional images to assess the crystalline lens as well as implant tilt. This additional information supports the eyecare specialist in the decision-making process for advanced technology IOL and post operative quality assessment.
Vision Simulation

Patient education

Zernike analysis of the cornea and vision simulation at any pupil diameter of choice enable thorough analysis of the patient’s vision impairment prior and after a potential surgical intervention. This supports educating the patient on possible solutions for excellent refractive results.
