Guided Workflow

Support system for examiner

With the Guided Workflow, all relevant steps for reliable testing are explained. This can shorten examiner learning curves and fosters high quality visual field results.

Dark room independent

Reliable operation outside of dark room

The Octopus 600 can be operated reliably outside of a dark room thanks to its TFT screen for stimulus projection that is insensitive to ambient light. This allows the Octopus 600 to be located wherever there is space, while correct light conditions are hardly a consideration.

Small footprint

Fits almost anywhere

The Octopus 600 has a small, compact design allowing for a minimal footprint. Adding in silent operation with no fans or motors, the Octopus 600 is a perimeter that can be placed almost anywhere within your eye care practice.

Large trial lenses

Facilitates patient positioning

Large trial lenses facilitate correct patient positioning and are already included in the Octopus 600. Thanks to their magnetic holding mechanism, trial lens placement is made easy.

Ergonomic patient response button

Ease of use for patient

The response button of the Octopus 600 has been designed to create an improved audible and mechanical feedback. It fits nicely into the patient’s hand. In addition, it enables the patient to give feedback in different positions, ensuring more comfortable use.

Magnetic translucent occluder

Eliminate the need for an eye patch

Created in collaboration with Corrales/Karickhoff,* the translucent material of the occluder prevents the reception of any stimuli while producing a gentle illumination on the covered eye. This is perceived as more pleasant for the patient, while also helping to counteract a potential blackout.

The magnetic holder not only saves valuable patient set-up time, but also reduces risks associated with improper coverage. Moreover, as the occluder is not in direct contact with the patient, it eliminates the need for disinfection, thereby increasing its shelf life. Finished with the examination? Simply store the translucent occluder in the hygienic lens compartment until next use.

Forward-leaning position

For more patient comfort

A slight forward and downward looking position is generally perceived as more comfortable by the patient. For added comfort, a chinrest is an optional extra.

Fixation Control

Automatically deals with fixation losses

Fixation losses due to low patient compliance are a major cause of unreliable visual fields. With the Octopus 600 Fixation Control, there's no need to worry. The Fixation Control pauses testing during improper fixation and resumes automatically—ensuring that each visual field point is tested.
