By examining the healthy eyes of different patients, trainees learn to visualize anatomical features and gain routine in examining patients with the slit lamp. The basic examination training starts with the external eye and anterior segment; trainees examine the patients' eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea, and lens. The following course provides an introduction to fundoscopy, where users learn to scan the retinal landmarks and the periphery. Finally, trainees can practice the demanding skill of investigating the anterior chamber angle using the gonioscopy lens. Visual clues guide trainees through all tasks, for example, with green and red marks indicating whether the examination area is in focus.
