Haag-Streit appoints Felix Heimann as new Executive Vice President Research & Development

Haag-Streit is pleased to appoint Felix Heimann in the role of Executive Vice President Research & Development.

Mr Heimann is a senior executive with extensive experience in R&D, having held four roles with Haag-Streit spanning 11 years. Most recently, he was Head of Global Product Development, a position he held for more than two years under the mentorship of Mr Markus Schill, from whom he succeeds. Mr Heimann will also assume the Managing Director role of Haag-Streit GmbH in Mannheim, as well as co-managing Directorships of Möller Wedel Beteiligungen GmbH in Wedel and Haag-Streit Engineering GmbH & Co. KG in Wedel, together with Stefan Büchler.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce Mr Heimann’s appointment,” said Thomas Bernhard, CEO, Haag-Streit Group. “Having spent his formative years building a successful career in R&D, he brings a wealth of management expertise, plus a deep understanding of our unique Group culture.”

Mr Heimann holds a Doctorate of Natural Sciences and a Physics degree from Heidelberg University, where he qualified with the highest honors. After graduation, he moved to VRmagic GmbH as a Developer for the company’s simulators, where he developed a robust approach to surgical suturing simulation. This technical grounding proved fundamental to his career progression, which led to subsequent promotions and eventual responsibility for custom development of the simulation business, coinciding with the acquisition of VRmagic by the Haag-Streit Group.

“Mr Heimann’s technical pedigree, commitment to the company, and proven ability to transform business processes makes him the natural successor to Mr Markus Schill,” continues Mr Bernhard. “He takes the reins at a defining moment in our Group’s history – with two upcoming major product launches, and many other new devices and solutions planned for release in 2025 and 2026, our product roadmap has never been more ambitious. With this appointment, I am confident that Mr Heimann has the necessary skills, experience, and leadership qualities, as well as a deep understanding of our working culture, to meet this challenge and thrive in this pivotal role.”

Mr Bernhard concluded, “The Board of Directors of Metall Zug and the executive management team of the Haag-Streit Group wish Mr Heimann every success in this new, exciting, and challenging position.”
