True-to-life handpieces

Surgery instruments & injectors

Two new hand-operated injectors allow injections into the eye via a plunger, closely mimicking the methods used to carry out fundamental procedures such as hydrodissection, anterior chamber management with viscoelastic, and implantation of the IOL.

Trainees learn the right motor skills to keep the instrument steady while injecting, as well as how to exert the precise level of force required to start the fluid wave during hydrodissection. Together, trainees build confidence in the skills needed to inject fluids or devices such as an IOL, capsular tension ring, or pupil expander.

Anterior & posterior segment interface

Patient head

The same patient interface trains anterior and posterior segment surgery. For cataract surgery, eight incisions around the model eye’s cornea can be operated on from a temporal or superior position. For retina surgery, two pars plana ports are available. The combined patient head opens the door for future simulations, for example, pars plana anterior vitrectomy.

Proper ergonomics

Toward peak performance

Eyesi Surgical 3.0 offers a more redefined ergonomics experience that allows the surgeon to train not only what happens inside the eye, but also how the entire body interacts with the surgical environment. Thoughtful design features embed proper ergonomics into daily training to become habitual in the OR, such as a redesigned operating table, ergonomic foot-switch positioning, and a tiltable microscope.

Virtual instrument tray

Build familiarity, boost workflow

Choosing the right instrument from an array of similar-looking options can be bewildering for novice surgeons. In Eyesi Surgical 3.0, each instrument is clearly labeled with an image, helping learners to quickly visualize the different options and build familiarity with their capabilities. Simply open the on-screen instrument tray to efficiently browse through the instruments and assign the tool of choice to the handpieces.
