Unlike other laser procedures, where laser "shots" are clearly visible, SLT laser "spots" cannot be seen – making it difficult for trainees to maintain correct orientation and track the number and position of placed laser "shots", as well as determine the quality of the treatment given.
New guiding elements support trainees in two key areas: correct lens positioning and rotation. The simulator indicates the current rotation angle and the area of the chamber angle that can be seen, allowing trainees to fine-tune their lens handling for the optimum tilt and position. During the simulation, new steps are introduced and explained through interactive animations. Once the task is complete, trainees are presented with a thorough performance evaluation, revealing key measures, such as the number, position, and quality of the laser "shots".
